Employee Interviews
We did a bunch of Employee Interviews while I was at Ueno to showcase our culture and working philosophy, et cetera. But mainly et-cetera... My favorite part though was using them to show how funny everyone at Ueno actually was. Some people there were less funny, but hey, it takes all kinds.
I was DP and Editor on these. Special thanks to James Rice as well.
P.S. James and I had a little song we’d sing on video shoots. It went like this: “Two man crew! So what else is new?”
Social clips
We had so much interview footage to work with that naturally we ended up making short clips to post to social. Luckily Halli was down with using stuff like this for general brand marketing.
Somewhere in the distant past of Ueno’s slack messages there’s a thread about how the brand should be perceived. Halli’s response was something like,
“It should always look like we don’t know that we’re doing it wrong”.
That’s a kind of confidence that money can’t buy. And I’m thankful I got to work in there when I did.
Et Cetera
This is the kind of stuff we’d do when there wasn't much else going on. Don’t get me wrong. Ueno was a busy place. People were swamped with playing Rocket League, Overcooked, and Tricky Towers. How we ever got around to finishing up client work is still a mystery to me.
FWIW I think this next video was Valgeir’s idea. Oh also, I wrote and recorded the theme music for Danger Sohn.
I have no good explanation for this next one, but that’s me as the anchor, and I wrote the theme music.
OK. This next one’s kind of embracing, I mean, embarrassing. That’s why I’m hiding it here at the bottom of this, the longest page on this website. I wrote a song for Ueno’s 5th anniversary and spent way too long on it. When I was done Halli was like:
“Let’s make a video. With you singing.”
